The Renewal of Marriage Vows is becoming more and more popular with married couples for many and varied reasons: a chance to say your vows or rewritten vows to one another, an anniversary or birthday, a celebration ceremony back home, or just the chance to say “I do” once again!
Unlike the original Wedding Ceremony a Renewal of Vows Ceremony has no legal obligation and witnesses are not required. The main purpose I find is for couples to reaffirm their love and ongoing commitment to each other.
What to expect:
An initial meeting. – this can be either in person or on Skype where we get to know each other a little and you get to ask all the questions! We will talk through your ideas to date and your expectations and should you wish to proceed, I would ask that you complete a booking form, sign a celebrant service agreement and pay a booking fee to secure my services. You will have access to my resources – poems, readings rituals etc of which I will then forward to you.
The official meeting – this is such a fun process where we discuss together the creation of your ceremony and write the first draft. We will then correspond as often as required until the ceremony is complete.
Rehearsal – Usually within 2 weeks of your wedding day (venue permitting).
Wedding day – I will arrive 20-30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time and will dress according to your colour theme!
